We stayed at the leisure barn over the weekend in Aug 09/08-11/08. The occasion was a 40th birthday celebration. There were 28 of us in total, the littlest being only 3 years old and the oldest 70 years. The accommodation was absolutely perfect for us and has everything you could need. The weather was utterly horrendous that weekend, storms and rain pretty much all weekend. Meaning we had to spend a lot of time indoors. The children enjoyed the barn the most it has to be said, all the games, table tennis, badminton, football and the like. It didn't matter that outside it was miserable. It does get chilly in the evening, but nothing that a jumper and the various blankets wont be able to help with. The pods and bedrooms are all very warm and cosy, and surprisingly soundproof.
Five over 60's booked the cottage for last few days of December & the New Year, to see in New Year with larger family group staying in the leisure barn

We'd recommend this property ,It is very comfortable and has everything you need, set in a quiet and peaceful location .

After spending a week here, we didn't want to go! There is plenty to do that is all equal distances away. The beautiful Clovelly, the views from Hartland Quay and Hartland Point, the beach and restaurants in Bideford and Westward Ho! and the coastal resort of Bude. This is all we managed to do and we wish we had longer to do even more!
The Dream Cottage in Lane Barton has everything that you need to make yourself feel at home, and the view on a clear night is spectacular, i've never seen so many stars! You can relax in the hot tub or admire the countryside or put your feet up and catch up on your favourite TV. It really felt like home.
You won't be disappointed with your stay in Dream Cottage, we highly recommend!
We came here this summer and it is probably the most sociable and fun accommodation me and my friends have ever been on holiday to (and we've been on holiday to a lot of places!). The space is huge, and there are loads of random fun things to do, like badminton, bikes, volleyball, football, giant jenga and a bunch of other things. We made a dizzy assault course one night, two teams of 10, hilarious carnage. We had a great week there. I would comment that's a bit more 'outdoorsy' than you might expect. The barn IS converted, but not like a usual holiday conversion - it's still pretty rough and ready, Although saying that, the kitchen is great, and the beds are super comfy! It facilitated an amazing week - good location for day trips too. You can't not have a memorable week, it's not like any other place! It'll live long in the memory - totally unique and pretty amazing all in all.
We had my amazing hen do here.... The pods were perfect, a more luxurious version of camping! The barn space was perfect for a party and just hanging out in the evening. I really liked the bean bags and rugs for later in the evening. There was a nie outdoor area to dine in! I would definitely go back again!

Excellent accommodation, great indoor space that will keep kids and adults entertained for hours. The pods are very luxurious and have both ensuite toilet and shower and underfloor heating. A more than adequate kitchen for all your catering needs. I celebrated my 40th here and everyone had superb time, ask Derek for anything and I'm sure he can arrange (he organised a treasure hunt for us!) Highly recommend.
The best hen weekend venue ever!! We spent the weekend partying away in the barn, the pods were amazingly comfy and the facilities just lend themselves to making the space what you want it to be. Well equipped kitchen which served as a bar too - great party venue, perfect for a large group (there were 18 of us), we can't stop talking about what an amazing time we had! Derek and Angie are brilliant, really helpful and happy to let us decorate and use the space however we wanted.
Absolutely brilliant accommodation and saved the day when the weather was foul on the Friday as plenty of space for all sorts of games including indoor cricket. Perfect for a big group party and very friendly helpful owner in Derek.
Best weekend ever ever.
Felt like a big kid the whole time and was very sorry to leave. Derek and family are lovely and very helpful. Will def coming back very soon.

So we spent the other weekend at the Lane Barton Leisure Barn and it couldn't have been a better weekend. Nice and secluded barn that had lots of activities for us to keep busy.

Just spent the weekend here with family for a surprise 70th birthday. We stayed in the leisure barn and our parents stayed in dream cottage
Such a brilliant idea , our age range was 3 months to 72 years and all of us have had a fantastic time (including the teenagers !!) Loads to do in the barn , table tennis , football , badmington etc etc and great for three birthday parties we celebrated whilst away !!! Great setting , views from the fields are beautiful . Pods are lovely and warm .
All good , just don't forget it is a barn and you will get dirty , but that is all part of the fun :)
